65th edition of the Festa de la Verema
With a long winemaking tradition in Catalonia, the Sitges Harvest Festival and Wine Fair is historically linked to its most emblematic variety, Malvasia de Sitges. This celebration combines culture, gastronomy, and tradition, offering the opportunity to taste wines from Garraf and Penedès DO wineries in an unbeatable setting: the Fragata Beach.

Institutional visit and presentation of the Torres&Earth space (CANCELLED)
The Torres&Earth Space is an educational space by Família Torres dedicated to raising awareness of the effects of climate change. It explains the impact of climate change on viticulture and the measures being taken to reduce its environmental footprint. It also presents sustainability and adaptation initiatives in the wine sector. The presentation will include an institutional visit.

Parade of the Sitges Pubillatge
Featuring the Pubilla giantess

Pressing of the first grape must
A traditional event representing the first must of the harvest, which is then offered to the parish of Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla, as part of a ritual linked to the land, the vineyards and Sitges’ winemaking tradition.

47th Grape Stompers Competition
Representatives of different local organisations will recreate the historical tradition of the grape harvest, treading the grapes with their feet to extract the must. This festive and symbolic activity connects with Sitges’ winemaking roots, celebrates local culture and highlights the importance of wine and vineyards within the town’s heritage. With the participation of local organisations and the weighing of the pubilla and the hereu of Sitges with their equivalent in wine.

Singing of Habaneras
Accompanied by Torres burnt brandy, the traditional cantada d’havaneres performed by the group Xató will bring the new edition of the Festa de la Verema to a close.

Saturday, 3 October
Open Day and museum visit
The Centre d’Interpretació de la Malvasia is an enotourism and experiential space of the Celler de l’Hospital, dedicated to promoting knowledge of and the heritage value of vineyards and Malvasia de Sitges wines. Located in the Corral de la vila, an 18th-century livestock building, the CIM offers enotourism experiences to discover that Malvasia de Sitges is much more than a sweet wine.
Time: 11 am to 2:30 pm and 5 pm to 8 pm

Guided Tour Olor de Most
Guided tour through the streets of Sitges from the perspective of Malvasia de Sitges. Discover the essential landmarks of wine culture in Sitges and learn about the celebration of this event, which has a history spanning more than 60 years. The tour begins at Plaça de l’Ajuntament and ends at the Centre d’Interpretació de la Malvasia.
Tickets cost 20 euros and can be purchased in Spanish or in Catalan.
