Sitges will be kicking off its 2025 calendar of events with La Capbussada, a fun activity that, for the fourth year in a row, will bring together hundreds of people on Sant Sebastià Beach for first swim of the year. Sitges City Council, in collaboration with Ràdio Sitges, is once again promoting this unique experience taking place on 1 January at 12 noon for anyone who wants to brave the water temperature and take a dip in the sea.

The activity is suitable for all ages and will feature entertainment by Ràdio Sitges and DJ Nuria Scarp. Following the swim, hot chocolate will be served and an award will be given to the participant with the best costume. There will also be a prize draw, courtesy of Sitges small businesses.

It’s free to sign up, but best to do so in advance, by 30 December, at Ferran Sports (Carrer Jesús, 22) or Somnis de Colors (Camí de la Fita, 18). On the day of the activity, you can also sign up from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the main entrance to Sant Sebastià Beach.

Sitges City Council will provide a lifeguard service for this event to ensure swimmers’ safety.
