What if you could try out motherhood with a 5-year warranty and back out if you regret it? That’s the premise of Biològica, an uncomfortable comedy that reflects on family ties and the decision to have children in the 21st century. Àgata decides to have a warrantied child, but when Eloi comes on the scene, her life will be turned upside down and her family system shaken. The story explores how being a mother can be compatible with maintaining one’s individuality, in a world that demands devotion to motherhood while also expecting workaholism and consumerism. How can we find time for everything without losing out on anything? And what does it really mean to ‘lose out’?
