This exhibition dedicated to the Sitges painter, playwright, and stage designer, Artur Carbonell (1906-1973), presents his work within the context of Catalan and European art of his time, emphasizing his admiration for Jean Cocteau, a key figure for his representation of the Return to Order, the reinterpretation of classical myths, and the creation of his public image, without concealing his sexual freedom.

These elements, in one way or another, strongly influenced Artur Carbonell's trajectory, both his artistic and his theatrical career.

This exhibition provides a unique opportunity to delve deeper into the legacy of one of Sitges' most prominent artists, and to see up close an important selection of his production within the context of 20th-century Catalan art.
