An unexpected treasure near the sea
Visiting the Garraf Nature Reserve is a magnificent opportunity to enjoy an exotic, rocky landscape with numerous subterranean cavities formed by the water’s action on the calcareous stone, furrowed by dry gullies embedded in this rocky area known as fondos or basins. Two of its most outstanding peaks are La Morella (594.6), and El Rascler (572 m).
The Reserve boasts its own unique flora, and is Europe’s most northern area where the European or Mediterranean Fan Palm grows, its most characteristic plant.
You can discover this green lung through organized activities like guided itineraries, workshops, observatories and field work offered by different companies from around the township.
Smack in the middle of the Garraf Nature Reserve is the Palau Novella, home of the Sakya Tashi Ling Buddhist Monastery, offering workshops including meditation, relaxation, Tai-Chi, Yoga... At the Palau Novella museum you can visit the heritage of a family of Indianos (Spaniards who returned to Spain after making their fortune in Latin America) and an exhibition of Tibetan culture.
